Fostering

Our Fosters are Full Time. Full Time Fosters take in a dog that we both agree is a good fit for everyone. They provide temporary housing and care until their foster dogs find their forever homes. This can be as short as a few days, or take as long as a few months depending on the care the pup requires. 

Foster Application Process
  • Step 1:  Fill out the New Foster Questionnaire.    fdm_questionannire.pdf
  • Step 2:  Send us the completed Questionnaire either online or by email to​ Fay at fKrokower@msn.com                                           
  • Step 3:  Have a phone screening interview with a foster coordinator.
  • Step 4:  Have a home visit with one of our trained volunteers.
  • Step 5:  Find the best foster dog for you!

Our Commitment 

Your Commitment​
  • ​We provide routine and emergency medical care at one of our fantastic vetrinary partners, at no cost to you! You simply schedule the appointment and get the pup the care they need, we take care of the bill. 
  • We provide essential supplies, including collars, leashes, crates and identification tags. 
  • We let the world know that your Ferry Dog Mother foster pup is looking for the perfect permanent home.
  • We are here to answer questions, screen potential adopters, cover all medical costs, and anything we can do to make fostering a wonderful experience. 
  • You provide daily care for your Foster dog.
  • You provide unconditional love and affection.
  • You bring your foster to all necessary veterinary appointments.
  • You provide information for the adoption coordinator to write the dog's adoption biography. Tell us all you have learned about the personality, likes, and needs of your foster. And if you like, you can participate in screening potential adopters and marketing your foster dog.
  • And, most importantly, you let us know if you need any help!
